There’s nothing better than watching a mother-daughter duo living their best lives, and that’s exactly what Andi and Miquita Oliver are doing in their new BBC Two travel series. While the pair were both born in West London, their family is originally from Antigua. To explore their Caribbean heritage, Andi and Miquita jetted off to the island, with the BBC in tow, to create a fantastic two-part series exploring not only their roots, but their bond as mother and daughter.
A new man has joined the list of potential fathers on How I Met Your Father. Though the new Hulu series confirmed that Sophie (Hilary Duff) met the future father of her son on the night depicted in the first episode — seemingly whittling the list down to four options — the third episode reveals she met someone we didn’t see: Jesse’s boss Drew, played by Josh Peck.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs wasn’t created by Walt Disney, but his 1937 animated production of the Grimm Brothers’ iconic fairytale certainly popularized the story — and gave each of its fantastical dwarf characters their memorable names: Doc, Grumpy, Sleepy, Happy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey. Earlier this year, the Disney company revealed West Side Story actor Rachel Zegler will portray the princess in a forthcoming live-action remake directed by Marc Webb. During a Jan. 24 appearance on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage — who lives with a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia — criticized the corporation for continuously retelling a story with outdated and offensive portrayals of little people.
Though she’s yet to land a coveted one-on-one date, Gabby Windey has been steadily making more of an impression on Clayton Echard throughout his Bachelor season. In the most recent episode, she won the Baywatch-themed group date challenge and scored some extra makeout time with Clayton; during the evening portion, she continued to impress him with her “goofy” side and ultimately won his group date rose.
Starring a host of British rising stars, including The Crown actress Erin Doherty, BBC One’s new series Chloe has been tipped as a psychological thriller for the social media-obsessed generation. Described as "a mystery about obsession, deceit, identity, and grief," the six-part series is is gearing up to challenge how we view picture-perfect lives on Instagram via a whodunnit mystery plot that sees a young woman infiltrate the glamorous life of her social media obsession after she turns up dead.
It’s been about a month since Chris Noth was dropped from The Equalizer, and his former co-star Queen Latifah has weighed in on how the series will continue without him. “It’s still surreal. It is such a dicey, delicate situation that requires a great deal of respect,” the 51-year-old actor told People (The TV Show!) of the multiple sexual assault allegations made against Noth in recent weeks. “That’s a personal thing that he's going to have to deal with,” she added.
You know what they say: The couple that runs through downtown Los Angeles naked together, stays together (or something like that). After earning a group date rose earlier this season, Bachelor Clayton Echard invited 23-year-old Sarah Hamrick on an extreme scavenger hunt through downtown Los Angeles. The pair smashed piñatas, ran around in their underwear, and even serenaded each other in public before sitting down for a romantic, candlelit dinner at the immersive Van Gogh exhibit.
Who doesn’t love Emma Thompson? If her heartbreaking Love Actually scene, pre-Strictly debut gift for hubby Greg Wise, and dancing memes at An Audience With Adele weren’t enough, her latest role might just be the one. Directed by Sophie Hyde, Good Luck to You, Leo Grande follows the story of a widowed teacher Nancy Stokes, who, in an attempt to experience excitement in the bedroom for the very first time, enlists the help of a male escort.
Bachelor fans are very confused after an emotional group date in which several contestants (and the Bachelor himself) opened up about their body image issues. The reality series, which continues to lack body diversity after 26 seasons, recruited former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe to host the date and facilitate an honest and vulnerable discussion. The women were read various statements out loud and were told the stand up if they could relate. Rather quickly, the group date transformed into an intense therapy session.
It’s safe to say Jed Mercurio’s brand new crime drama Trigger Point started off with a blast when it aired on ITV on Jan. 23. Starring Line Of Duty’s Vicky McClure as bomb disposal operative Lana Washington, the new series introduced audiences to London-based bomb disposal squad ‘EXPO’, as they thwart terrorism cases in extremely explosive scenes. Following a shocker of a cliffhanger, Twitter was quick to react with memes and reactions to ITV’s Trigger Point (especially regarding that light switch...).
Out with one Bachelor villain, in with the next. After Clayton Echard officially sent Cassidy Timbrooks home, Shanae Ankney spent the remainder of the Jan. 24 episode solidifying her place as the next villain. She’d already stirred up drama in the house, but set the women even further over the edge during a Baywatch-themed group date, during which the women had to create their own slow-motion run akin to the one popularized by the ‘90s show. Shanae’s run was no more ostentatious than anyone’s, but when she capped off her run by diving into Clayton’s arms and going in for a prolonged kiss, the other contestants became less than thrilled.
Summer House star Alex Wach came into Season 6 with three priorities that don’t exactly align with the rest of the cast’s hard-partying ways: eating healthy, working out, and looking good. However, it didn’t take long for him to let his guard down. In the Summer House trailer, he even shares a kiss with Lindsay Hubbard, who was newly single at the time.
What could be worse than competing with a group of 30 other gorgeous women for the affections and attention of one man? Having to attend a group therapy session with all of them. Yet once again, that’s what happened in the Oct. 24 episode of The Bachelor.
In her decades-long career, Gina Torres has embodied plenty of striking, sometimes lethal women. She slipped into brass bras and peek-a-boo pants as pirate captain Nebula in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys; leather vests as the warrior Zoë in Firefly; and tailor-made suits as accomplished law firm partner Jessica Pearson in Suits and Pearson. But though she appeared to arrive on-screen fully formed, at 28, Torres didn’t always feel confident when the cameras stopped rolling. “I sort of learned from these women that I was portraying along the way, and I was faking it ’til I made it,” the actor tells Bustle.
We haven’t seen much of Rachel Recchia on Clayton Echard’s season of The Bachelor, but there’s reason to believe she’ll be one to watch. As many fans have pointed out, Clayton confesses to two women in the trailer that he’s been intimate with both of them — one of whom appears to be Rachel. It’s not exactly clear when this conversation takes place, but it is assumedly much later in the season, most likely after the Fantasy Suite dates. So suffice it to say Rachel will probably be sticking around for a while.
Part of the fun of being a Swiftie is spending hours decoding lyrics, figuring out who exactly she alludes to à la blind item in song — especially when it comes to her romances — or whose baby she namechecks. And when it comes to standing up for her work, fans can rely on Swift to call people out publicly, pointedly, and swiftly. (Never forget when she addressed Scooter Braun and the music industry’s double standards via Twitter and her 2019 Billboard Woman of the Decade acceptance speech.) On Jan. 23, the “All Too Well” singer, 32, found herself having to defend her work again.
By the time Mya Allen arrived in the Summer House mansion for Season 6, she was more than ready to “have fun and let loose.” During the pandemic, she’d made two major life changes: She started her own cookie business on the side, and she ended her longtime engagement. A summer of debauchery was exactly what she needed.
